The most common problem people have is when either Norton or McAfee are interfering. Sometimes they block cookies, images, or javascript. When any of these three are blocked it causes issues. It's like trying to watch your TV with a blanket over it blocking the light. The fix? Disable them. No, it won't really make you any less secure. If you're worried about security, trash Internet Explorer and download Firefox since it doesn't use Active-X and has fewer vulnerabilities. Additionally, keep your computer up to date, don't download stupid stuff like Smiley's and other free crap for 13 year olds (most of it is laced with spyware and adware). If you just use some common sense when you download stuff you'll be fine.
Just delete the code. That's it.
Could be a few things. First, it only works with the Normal type banner. Second, it won't work in Myspace bulletins or comments. Lastly, I might have messed it up for about the tenth time...if you think that's the case...send an email and I'll check it out.
It sure is! If you want to, though, you can upgrade to a VIP account for $25/year. This will give you extra features that you wouldn't otherwise get to use.
This is called a header banner. Select the Header Banner option on the save tab of the banner maker to make one.
This is called a masthead banner (after Mike Davidson's profile hack). You simply select the Masthead Banner option on the save tab of the banner maker.
Most of the text on the banner is customizable as part of the banner. Click on the text tab and you'll see a series of controls allowing you to change the text to suit your needs.
As noted on the upload box, you can upload JPEG, PNG, GIF and BMP images.
Since BMP is such an old and outdated format, many companies have come up with their own version of BMPs that aren't supported here. You should convert all of your old BMP images over to PNG or GIF for quality and file-size benefits.
On Windows, depending on the format, you can open it up in MS Paint and hit File > Save As... and choose a different file type from the dropdown.
Yes. Go to the Save Tab on the banner maker and change the link from http://mybannermaker.com/ to whatever you would like. Please do not change the link after you save the banner. The link is done so that when someone clicks on it they can see that your banner was made with MyBannerMaker and they have an opportunity to create their own banner.
Check the box on the Save tab. NOTE: The code box won't show up in bulletins, comments on your friends' profiles or photos. This is because of Myspace.
All of the text can be changed or removed from the banner on the Text tab, except for the "Make your own banner at MyBannerMaker.com" advert. In order to remove that you will need to sign up for a VIP account.
You're using AOL aren't you? Unfortunately, they suck and block email from us. Send us an email from that email address letting us know and we'll get you your password.
Right now the only features for VIP accounts are only being offered to VIP members who have paid the $25 fee. These features are features that cost us a considerable amount to maintain, or would prohibit the banner maker from continuing to operate if they were available without for free.
We do have plans on adding free accounts, though. When this happens, all accounts will store the banners you have created for later editing. You will also have a page to display your banners and information about you. This will work best for bands and companies letting people use their banners for advertising.
We would love to, but we're really not sure what to add that doesn't use animation. We can do animation, but it uses a LOT of power to do it. Right now our servers are slammed with just doing glitter, which is only 3 frames. We're looking into ways to handle more frames of animation without bogging down the server.
See number one and if you're using Firefox, make sure you don't have adblock enabled!
